A great democracy has got to be progressive, or it will soon cease to be great or a democracy."

I lost one friend to an illegal abortion, and have many other bad memories due to the laws prior to Roe v Wade.
It is uncivilized for religious people to think that despite America's Constitution clearly stating that we have a separation of church and state, THEY can FORCE ME to live by the rules of THEIR RELIGION because they have made laws based on THEIR religious beliefs!
There is NO lawful excuse for the state to interfere in the relationship of a woman with her own doctor, or to specify treatment, procedures or restrictions on what she can do with her own body!
I thought we fought this battle and WON.  Clearly, NOT YET.

MY state put legal abortion in OUR constitution. But, what about women who live in the other 49 states? No one should be forced to go through the traumas that we did, 40 years ago.

After reading a summary of Republican anti-abortion laws around the country.... my blood pressure is on fire.
We need to  Clean the House in 2012.  We need to Clean some State Houses, too!  I honestly do not know what the women in those states are thinking, wanting to push us back to 1971.  Has it been so long, nobody remembers how bad it really was?
I do.  I will never forget, and I will never give in.  A woman's right to control her own body is a primary human right.
